Not much

Same ole, same ole. On weekends I knit, watch football, do dishes, knit and sometimes to vary the routine do laundry and cook enuff on Friday to last the weekend. So not terribly much to write about. Did finish a pair of socks the all leftovers reds and oranges. These I think I'll keep for myself(I think).


Took a bunch of colors to last KB for Andrea to pick out colors she wants in her socks. The blue on the left (Hazel Knits) will be the main color, she wants patterns right down to the toe, only thing I don't know is if she wants fraternal or identical. May see her again this week and will find out.


And got a pix of Kristie wearing her socks, was hoping for a full shot but will settle for just the feet. She waited a long time for the socks (thru the evacuations of the summer) and many other things that got in the way.....


Had heavy snow warnings posted on environment Canada's weather page for the last two days and what came down didn't amount to much of anything, was heavy and wet and as day progressed the warmer temps had it melting almost as soon as it hit.

Having our KB on Thursday this week so that I don't have to go out twice, can get INR blood work done now on Tuesday and or Thursday, then hopefully if its in the good range will only have to go out every three weeks.

    Love the red socks! Kristie's socks look great, too. Hope the blood work came out fine, and you had a fun trip out today.

    My family grilled burgers and hot dogs for Thanksgiving today. I am about to finish knitting another Wingspan (ravelry pattern), my favorite TV knitting pattern. Tomorrow I need to decide what is next on my knitting list to donate this winter.

4 more pair on needles, work on each for at least 10 rows every other day before putting it down. Blue pair is farest along and have everything ready for sock #2. Blue pair will be identical all the others fraternal. A couple of nights ago bout 9pm saw a blue heron land in tree just south of the house, watched it preen for some time and when it was to dark for a pix 2 more landed in tree beside the first. Same day saw a kingfisher dive towards the river. Bear activity has cooled down, assume they are over at the Chilko River system fishing for salmon. Last black I saw was just its backside as it headed for the west fence got a quick pix but not worth posting. Nothing much happening in my wild mountain valley these days, some ranchers have finally been able to start cutting hay, and everyone else is hoping for rain. So many bad fires in BC again this season.

Finally got myself to town Dec. 27-28. Prescriptions, haircut, groceries, and most important getting bank Visa problems straightened out. Tried dealing with bank via telephone and both times I connected got someone that wouldn't acknowledge that I was hard of hearing, heavy accents didn't help. Had 7 charges for Play Station almost $1000, since I've never even seen one, wasn't me . Because of all the weird charges they wouldn't activate the new Visa card. A good weather window opened so in I went, took almost an hour getting everything straightened out. Meanwhile when I did get to the grocery store almost filled my buggy with produce and fruit. Had help unloading the car when I got home Thursday 3 ish. Grizzlies

May 30th had a visiting grizzly complete with two yearling cubs, camera at hand got 3 pix before she and cubs wandered off. 2023 season off to a good start, 2 blacks and 3 griz in my yard. Sock knitting continues as always, pix of latest finished pair of Monstersocks. As soon aas they were finished started another pair using a midnight blue Hawthorne from Knit Picks, but instead of Monstersocks am going back to old standby fair-nordic patterns, dk blue will be main colour then orange, med gray, red and white for the patterns. Fairly conservative for my knitting. Went into town on Monday, oil change, checked in at Speedy Glass about a new windshield (come back in a week), picked up my new glasses, then a motel for the night. Tuesday had dentist appointment at 9 am, think its the last for a while, then renewed ICBC (license plate and insurance for another year), picked up some groceries and lastly Kal Tire where I finally got winter tires off my Subie (they go back on October 1).
